'वर्जिन ट्री' दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी के हिन्दू कॉलेज में स्थित है।  छंटाई की गई है और इसके आसपास के अन्य पेड़ों को काट दिया गया है। वेलेंटाइन डे के दिन 50 साल पुराने इस कीकर के पेड़ की खास पूजा होती है और ये लवर्स प्वाइंट के लिए मशहूर है।

वेलेंटाइन डे के दिन इस पेड़ को पानी से भरे हार्ट (दिल) शेप के लाल गुब्बारे और कंडोम से सजाया जाता है और दमदमी माई की फोटो भी लगाई जाती है। किसी बॉलीवुड हीरोइन को दमदमी माई बनाया जाता है। इसके अलावा यहां बॉलीवुड एक्टर्स की भी फोटो लगाई जाती है। साल 2014 में दीपिका पादुकोण को दमदमी माई बनाया गया था, जबकि 2015 में मॉडल और एक्ट्रेस लिसा हेडन को खिताब मिला। लड़कियों के बीच बॉलीवुड एक्टर्स का बहुत क्रेज होता है।
कॉलेज स्टूडेंट्स के बीच ऐसी भी मान्यता है कि वेलेंटाइन डे को होने वाले दमदमी माई की पूजा में जो भी मौजूद रहता है और प्रसाद लेता है, उसे 6 महीने के अंदर गर्लफ्रेंड या ब्वॉयफ्रेंड मिल जाता है।

"Well-known expert on ancient graves, “Hunter” a treasure of the past Paul Koudounaris, named Indiana Bones found a creepy collection of “inlaid” jewels skeletons resting in churches throughout Europe for four hundred years.

Historian and critic Paul Koudounaris found and photographed dozens of frightening skeletons in the most closed Catholic churches and monasteries. Incredibly, some of these amazing skeletons in the decoration of which took up to five years, were stored in safes or other similar containers. Kudunaris gained access to the dungeons of the old European churches, in which the relics of the early Christians to hide from the public eye for nearly four centuries, and photographed them.

Deadly African Lake Turns Birds Into Salt Statues

The grim reaper is a humanoid representation of death that is familiar to almost everyone. Photographer Nick Brandt, however, has captured a mesmerizing series of images at Lake Natron in Africa showing us what the grim reaper‘s animal equivalents might look like.

Lake Natron is a salt lake in Tanzania. It it an extraordinarily harsh environment, where the extremely salty water may reach temperatures of 60 C (140 F) and an alkalinity almost as high as that of ammonia. The lake is completely uninhabitable to all but a few organisms – salt-loving bacteria, alkali-loving fish that live near the hot springs that feed the lake, and flamingoes, which can nest safe from predators on small islands of salt. Interestingly enough, the salt-loving algae that the flamingoes eat at lakes like these are part of the reason that they become pink, alongside the shrimp that they also dine on.

The process by which these unlucky birds have died is unclear, but the author says that a factor in it is the lake’s extreme reflectivity, which may cause birds to crash into the water, die, and become calcified husks. Brandt found the birds while working to capture the grandeur of Africa’s disappearing wildlife, which has been a major part of his life’s work. The birds were left as-is, except that the author posed them to make for better photographs.

Rajo Verma, 21, lives in a one-room shack with all five, sleeping with a different one each night on a rota.

The housewife has no idea which one is the father of her toddler son.

She said: “Initially it felt a bit awkward. But I don’t favour one over the other.”

Husband Guddu, 21 — the first to make her his bride — insisted: “We all have sex with her but I’m not jealous. We’re one big happy family.”

The couple got hitched in an arranged Hindu marriage four years ago and he remains her only official spouse.

But the custom in their village is she had to take as husbands his brothers Bajju, 32, Sant Ram, 28, Gopal, 26, and Dinesh — who married her last year when he turned 18.

Eldest brother Bajju said: “I consider her my wife and sleep with her like my brothers.” Rajo cooks, cleans and looks after 18-month-old Jay while her hubbies go out to work in Dehradun, northern India.

She said of the ancient tradition, called polyandry: “My mother was also married to three brothers so when I got wed I knew I had to accept all of them as my husbands.

“I sleep with them in turn. We don’t have beds, just lots of blankets on the floor.

“I get a lot more attention and love than most wives.”

भगवान शिव के पहले पूजा जाता है रावण...

उदयपुर.यह स्थान है भगवान कमलनाथ महादेव, जो झीलों की नगरी उदयपुर से 80 किमी दूर झाड़ोल तहसील में स्थित है।   

कहा जाता है, इस मंदिर की स्थापना स्वयं लंकापति रावण ने की थी, यह वह स्थान है जहां भगवान शिव ने रावण की नाभि में अमृत कुण्ड स्थापित किया था। 

साथ ही ऐसी मान्यता है कि यदि भगवान शिव की पूजा से पहले रावण की पूजा ना की जाये तो सारा कर्म काण्ड व्यर्थ जाता है अर्थात पूजा का कोई फल नहीं मिलता।

1000 साल पुराने इस किले से जुड़ी है रहस्य और रोमांच की अजब कहानी

इंदौर। ग्यारहवीं शताब्दी में मालवा पर शासन करने वाले परमार राजाओं ने मंदसौर से 165 और भानपुरा से 26 किमी दूर एक अद्भुत किले का निर्माण कराया था। आज यह किला खंडहर में तब्दील हो चुका है, लेकिन इसकी बनावट और शिल्पकारी को देख वैभव के चरमकाल में इसकी बुलंदियों का अंदाजा सहज ही लगाया जा सकता है। किले में गुप्त और परमार काल की चौथी और पांचवीं शताब्दी की मूर्तियां जहां इसके अद्वितीय मूर्तिशिल्प को दर्शाती हैं, वहीं किले में बने विभिन्न भवन इसके सामरिक महत्व को भी प्रदर्शित करते हैं। इस सबसे बढ़कर किले से रहस्य और रोमांच की एक अलहदा कहानी भी जुड़ी है।

कुत्तों के नाम कर दी थी करोड़ों की जमीन

चंडीगढ़। भगवान नामदेव की तरह गांव खानपुर के लगभग 800 परिवारों को कुत्तों में न सिर्फ भगवान नजर आता है, बल्कि वे तब तक खाना नहीं खाते जब तक कुत्ते भोग न लगा लें। पटियाला-चंडीगढ़ रोड पर स्थित गांव खानपुर में दशकों से कुत्तों की पूजा की जाती है। ये कोई आम कुत्ते नहीं, बल्कि करोड़ों की जायदाद के मालिक हैं। यहां कुत्तों का डेरा बना हुआ है जिसकी कई लगभग 160 बीघा जमीन यहां रहने वाले कुत्तों के नाम पर है।यह जमीन राजस्व रिकार्ड में आज भी कुत्तों के नाम ही है इस जमीन का यदि आज भी पता करना हो तो यह पटवारी के रजिस्टर में दर्ज है

आज भी शांत है इस जगह नदी का बहाव

चंडीगढ़। चिनाब नदी की दास्तां सुनकर आपको यह एहसास हो जाएगा की महाभारत के भीम का गुस्सा कितना भयानक था। कहते हैं चिनाब नदी का बहाव देश के दूसरे किसी भी नदी से कहीं ज्यादा तेज है। चिनाब नदी की पहचान ही तेज बहाव वाली नदी के तौर पर की जाती है। जम्मू के अखनूर में चिनाब नदी के किनारे एक किला है। वैसे तो किला अब अपनी पहचान खो रहा है। लेकिन किले के अंदर एक दस्तावेज है।

उस दस्तावेज में एक कहानी है। पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार एक ऐसी कहानी जो पांच हजार साल पहले गुजरे एक महापुरुष को फिर से जिंदा करती है। नदी के आसपास एक गुफा है। गुफा में एक छोटे बच्चे के पैर के निशान हैं। एक गाय के पैरों के निशान हैं। उस पैर के निशान के रहस्य भी पांडवों के अज्ञातवास से शुरु होती है।

This comes from a seventeenth century book of medical advice: to cure toothache, take a live mole, pop it into a brass pot, clap on the lid, and let it die an agonizing death from dehydration and/or starvation. Once the poor creature’s suffering is at an end, chop up its tiny, furry corpse, remove the innards, and dry the rest near the fire. Hold the now mummified mole parts to your sore face. Don’t have the guts to listen to the mole’s desperate struggles to escape your cruel trap? Another book advises cutting off the foot of a live mole and hanging it around the neck. This method was also used to try and soothe teething babies. Nothing says, “Mommy loves you,” quite like freshly mutilated animal parts.

Mankind has always had a semi-violent nature as its driving force. Over the years, people have obsessed over finding the best ways to dispense of adversaries as well as win conflicts amongst each other; however, not all human violence existed merely for warring purposes. Human sacrifice is known to have been a fundamental part of many historic “civilizations” for a large variety of reasons. Although most human sacrifice was carried out for the sake of religion, at times their cruelty hardly seemed worthy of the purpose.

Buried Alive

In early pharaonic civilization, pharaohs, once deceased, were buried along with their many servants (who were possibly still alive at the time of burial). This was done in accordance with the belief that they could serve their ruler in the afterlife. Evidence found by certain archaeologists suggests that the servants who were to be entombed with their ruler were in some sort of drug-induced state when this happened. I guess the drugs took their minds off the fact that they were walking to their deaths as they entered the tomb.



पुनर्जन्म

सन 1958 की बात है, मुज़फ़्फ़रनगर जिले के ग्राम रसुलपुर जाटान के एक लगभग तीन साल चार माह के बच्चे जसवीर पुत्र गिरधारी सिंह, जाट को चेचक निकली और उसकी मृत्यु हो गई। रात अधिक हो गई थी तो शरीर को रख दिया गया ताकि सुबह क्रियाक्रम के लिए शमशान ले जाया जा सके। 

सुबह जब क्रियाक्रम के लिए ले जाने की तैयारी करने लगे तो सब यह देखकर दंग रह गये कि बालक के शरीर में धीरे-धीरे प्राणों का संचार हो रहा है, बालक जीवित हो गया और कुछ दिनों में स्वस्थ हो गया। 

परन्तु उसके व्यवहार में भारी परिवर्तन हो गया था, वह उस घर के किसी भी सदस्य के हाथ का कुछ भी खाने को तैयार न था, कहता था कि वह तो ब्राह्मण है, अत: इस घर का कुछ न खाएगा। 

बच्चे ने बताया कि वह तो शोभाराम त्यागी है। 

पता चला कि उस ही दिन रात के 11 बजे शोभाराम त्यागी पुत्र शंकर लाल त्यागी नामक एक 22-23 वर्ष के युवा की मृत्यु बारात में जाते वक़्त तांगे से गिरकर हो गई थी। उस शोभा राम त्यागी की आत्मा जसवीर के शरीर में प्रवेश कर गई थी? 

जिस शरीर को अभी तक जसवीर की आत्मा भोग रही थी, मरने के बाद जसवीर की आत्मा तो प्रस्थान कर गई, उसके स्थान पर शोभाराम त्यागी की आत्मा उस शरीर में आ गई, और अब उस शरीर का उपभोग शोभाराम त्यागी की आत्मा करेगी और किया।

पुनर्जन्म-2

आगरा के सुरेश वर्मा 28 अगस्त, 1983 को दुकान से कार से घर लौट रहे थे, घर का दरवाजा खुलवाने के लिए हॉर्न बजाया। पर इसी बीच पहले से ही घात लगाकर बैठे दो आदमी बंदूक ताने उनकी ओर लपके और गोली दाग दी। एक गोली उनके पैर में लगी और दूसरी सिर में और सुरेश वर्मा की मृत्यु हो गई। 

28 अगस्त, 1983 को ही आगरा से 13 किलोमीटर दूर बढ़ ग्राम में सुरेश वर्मा की आत्मा ने पुन: जन्म ले लिया। उसका नाम टीटू रखा गया। आश्चर्य की बात यह थी कि सुरेश वर्मा के सिर व कान के पास जहाँ गोली लगी थी उस जगह उनके इस जन्म में भी निशान थे। 

प्रश्न यह उठता है कि सुरेश वर्मा 28 अगस्त, 1983 को मारे गये और उस ही दिन उनकी आत्मा ने जन्म ले लिया? इसका मतलब यह हुआ कि उस गर्भस्थ शिशु के शरीर में पहले से विद्यमान आत्मा चली गई और उसके स्थान पर सुरेश वर्मा की आत्मा उस शिशु के शरीर में आ गई थी? 

यानि कि टीटू के शरीर में पहले कोई दूसरी आत्मा रही, और जन्म के समय उस शिशु के शरीर में सुरेश वर्मा की आत्मा आ गई। शिशु टीटू ने सुरेश वर्मा के पुनर्जन्म के रूप में जन्म लिया।

चौकीदार को जगाती है आत्मा

बृज राज भवन, कोटा राजस्थान : बताया जाता है कि इस महल में 1857 की लड़ाई में ब्रिटिश सैन्य अफसर मेजर बर्टन की हत्या की गई थी जिसकी आत्मा रात के समय यहाँ भटकती है और चौकीदारों को चौकस करती है।

हो सकता है कि आप इस पर यकीन न करें लेकिन खबर सोलह आने सच है। यह किसी और देश की बात भी नहीं है बल्कि अपने ही देश के राजस्थान के कोटा शहर की बात है।

कोटा में रेलवे स्टेशन से तीन किलोमीटर और एयरपोर्ट से 5 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर बसा है बृजराज भवन पैलेस। वर्तमान में यह एक हैरिटेज होटल है। इस होटल के कर्मचारी एवं कई पर्यटकों ने अनुभव किया है कि इस होटल में एक ब्रिटिश मेजर की आत्मा भटकती है। यह आत्मा किसी को नुकसान नहीं पहुँचाती बल्कि पैलेस की निगरानी करती है।

इस मेजर की आत्मा को सिर्फ एक चीज बुरी लगती है वह है ड्यूटी के समय चौकीदार और हाउस कीपर का सोना। बृजराज भवन पैलेस में भटकती हुई आत्मा जब भी इन्हें ड्यूटी पर सोते अथवा धूम्रपान करते हुए देखती है एक जोरदार थप्पड़ लगाती है।

ऐसी मान्यता है कि 1857 में सिपाही विद्रोह के समय इस पैलेस में एक ब्रिटिश रेजिडेंट मेजर चार्ल्स बुर्टन रहता था। विद्राहियों ने इस पैलेस पर आक्रमण कर दिया। चार्ल्स बुर्टन के दो बेटे भी इस समय उसके साथ थे। कुछ सैनिकों के साथ इन तीनों ने काफी समय तक विद्रोहियों का मुकाबला किया लेकिन विद्रोहियों ने इन्हें पराजित कर दिया।

चार्ल्स बुर्टन विद्रोहियों के हाथों मारा गया। इस समय से ही ब्रिटिश रेजिडेंट मेजर चार्ल्स बुर्टन की आत्मा इस पैलेस में भटक रही है। बृजराज भवन पैलेस के कुछ कर्मचारियों का कहना है कि उन्होंने मेजर भी आवाज सुनी है।

अपने अपने आसपास दुनिया के सबसे बोरिंग लोग तो देखे होंगे, लेकिन क्या आपको पता है कि दुनिया का सबसे बोरिंग दिन कौन सा है? 

 नहीं पता, चलो जान लीजिए। 

वह दिन है 11 अप्रैल, 1954, इस दिन कुछ भी विशेष नहीं हुआ था, शोधकर्ता इसे 20वीं सदी का सबसे बोरिंग दिन मान रहे हैं। इससे पहले उस दिन को सबसे बोरिंग दिन के रूप में चिन्हित किया गया था, जिस दिन बीबीसी रेडियो के पास समाचार नहीं थे, समाचार वाचक रेडियो पर आया और उसने उद्घोषणा की कि आज कोई समाचार नहीं है ! 

परंतु अब शोधकर्ताओं ने 11 अप्रैल, 1954 को सर्वाधिक बोरिंग दिन के रूप में मान्यता दी है। अब आप सोच रहे होंगे कि किस पैमाने से यह तय किया गया कि यही दिन सबसे बोरिंग है. चलिए आपको वह तकनीक भी बताते हैं. हर दिन कोई न कोई घटना होती रहती है, परंतु माना गया कि 1954 के अप्रैल माह की 11 तारीख को कुछ भी विशेष नहीं हुआ था। 

शोधकर्ताओं ने इसके लिए 30 करोड़ महत्वपूर्ण घटनाओं को एक विशेष कंप्यूटर शोध कार्यक्रम में डाला और गणना की, कैम्ब्रिज विश्वविद्यालय के विलियम टनस्टाल द्वारा विकसित किए गए इस सॉफ्टवेयर ने पता लगाया कि 11 अप्रैल, 1954 को 2-3 छोटी-मोटी घटनाओं को छोड़कर कुछ भी विशेष नहीं हुआ. इस दिन बेल्जियम में चुनाव हुए थे, तुर्की के एक बुद्धिजीवी का जन्म हुआ था और जैक शफलबोटम नामक फुटबॉल खिलाड़ी का निधन हुआ था। इसके अलावा इस दिन कुछ नहीं हुआ। हालांकि कहने वाले इन्हें भी खास घटनाएं मान सकते हैं, लेकिन शोधकर्ताओं का कुछ और ही सोचना है।
