Why you need to apply for a new cheque book ?

Considered to be a major milestone in the history of Indian banking, Cheque Truncation System (CTS) aims to make cheque clearance more efficient and reduce the clearance time of cheques to one day, thereby trimming down the floating time considerably. India processes as many as 1.2 billions cheques annually and therefore, the implementation of this system would drastically cut down the waiting period involved. The system will be implemented nationwide from January 1, 2013.

उपभोक्ताओं को धोखा देने के लिये उत्पादों की दर बढ़ाने की बजाय कम्पनियाँ पुराने मूल्य रखकर ही सामग्री का वजन घटा देती थी। इससे उपभोक्ता को कम सामग्री मिलती थी। 

उत्पाद की मात्रा से छेड़छाड़ रोकने के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने पैकेज्ड कमोडिटी एक्ट प्रभावी किया है। इसके तहत कंपनियों को निर्धारित वजन में ही सामग्री विक्रय करनी होगी। आगामी 1 नवंबर से यह व्यवस्था लागू हो जाएगी। 

बाजार में मिलने वाली सभी पैकिंग खाद्य सामग्री अब 25, 50, 100 ग्राम और एक, दो, पांच और दस किलो वजन में ही मिलेगी। 

एक नवंबर से लागू होने वाले लीगल मीटरोलॉजी (पैकेज्ड कमोडिटी) एक्ट-2011 के नियमों की पालना की जाएगी। उत्पादों की मात्रा से छेड़छाड़ रोकने के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने यह एक्ट लागू किया है। 

एक्ट के तहत अब कन्पनियाँ बिस्कुट, ब्रेड, तेल, दाल, घी दूध पाउडर, नमक, साबुन सहित सारी वस्तुओं की पैकिंग 95, 110, 245, 950 ग्राम जैसे वजन में नहीं कर सकेंगी। 

इसके साथ ही यह भी कहा गया है कि अब अधिकतम खुदरा मूल्य पचास पैसे के गुणांक में ही रखना होगा। 

खुदरा व्यापारियों का कहना है कि उनके पास पुराने वजन का स्टॉक में पड़ा है। जब तक कम्पनियाँ नए एक्ट के अनुसार माल का वजन तय नहीं करेंगी, तब तक व्यापारी के हाथ में कुछ नहीं है। एक्ट की पालना के लिए सरकार को व्यापारियों की बजाय कंपनियों पर सख्ती करनी चाहिए। 

सभी कंपनियों को स्टैंडर्ड पैकिंग में ही सामग्री विक्रय करनी होगी। इससे उपभोक्ताओं को फायदा होगा।
