Stunning Photos of Transparent (Centrolenidae) Frog


The Glass Frog is named for its semitransparent skin, where you can see its internal organs. The color of their skin is light green, with small spots of either yellow, white, black, or blue. The Glass Frog lives in southern Mexico, Central America, and South America, as far south as northern Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia. There are currently between sixty and one hundred species of Glass Frogs living today. Glass Frogs live near rapid streams, or rivers, in the canopy level of trees in the rainforest. The Glass Frog is 20 to 30 millimeters long, and eats small insects.
